soap box. an improvised platform, as one on a street, from which a speaker delivers an informal speech, an appeal, or political harangue.
And thus begins my rant from my modern day soap box.
To set the scene, a few random thoughts on what I’ll base my posts on are…
- Everyone should be able to express their individual thoughts freely
- Everyone should be able to live the life that they want, the way that they want to as long as it does not prove detrimental to anyone else
- Individual free thinking is something that should be encouraged and practiced regularly
- When voicing an opinion, one should not only voice their discontent but also their solution to fix the problem
- Equality of opportunity is important is more important than equality of outcome. The outcome of the opportunity is determined by the individual’s ability to make the most of said opportunity
- Everyone should have freedom of religion as well as freedom from religion
- Children should be given the opportunity to grow up unfettered by religion, fear or persecution.
And that’s about it. I’ll add more as I feel the need.
